Top Teacher Award: $15,300 Total Cash Purse

Cash awards offered to the top ten teachers. To qualify, the teacher needs to meet the minimum required number of entries applicable to the particular placement and prize money level. All entries must be received by the yearly deadline and paid in full, otherwise, they will not count towards top teacher awards. “Sharing” students does not qualify both teachers. However, once a teacher qualifies, points will accumulate from all students with whom they dance.

Top Studio Awards –

Trophies will be awarded to the top studios in the following categories:
Small Studio
1 to 2 competing students.
Medium Studio
3 to 6 competing students.
Large Studio
7 or more competing students.

Top Student Awards –

Top Male and Female Awards
Trophies will be presented in each of the Newcomer, Bronze, Silver, and Gold/Advanced levels for both American & International Styles. Points are calculated from all entries and placements in relevant styles and levels.

Top Teacher Point System:

One point for every Single Pro/Am, Student/Student Amateur Entry. Five points for each Pro/Am or Amateur Multi-Dance entry. For each recall from Preliminary Rounds, one point is awarded. One placement deducted for uncontested events. Additional points are awarded for placement, as shown below. Multi-Dance Entries receive double the points shown below.

All single dance event participants will receive a $3, $2, and $1 voucher for their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd placement results. Critique sheets will be issued for solo exhibitions.

Multi-dance entries receive one point per dance.

Scholarship money will be awarded in Pro/Am Multi-Dance Scholarship events and Open Amateur Championships 16+. Pro/Am Scholarships include A, B, C & SR Age Divisions. Award amounts shown apply to each of those age categories.

If any division has less than six entries, the scholarship purse will be half the amount. Scholarship money is in Canadian Funds. Can-Am DanceSport reserves the right to cancel any event with less than three entries. The top three (3) ranking couples and all finalists in any multi-Dance event are awarded “Can-Am DanceSport” Medallions.
